Liners easily secure in the interior of the jacket with buttons. The collar has a zipper for accessing a stow away hood. There are four pockets on the front of the jacket with button snap flaps. The jacket has a full length zipper with a button snap storm flap. There are two draw cords for adjusting the waist and bottom of the coat as well.
Note on Defective: There will be unit, rank and name tape patches or noticeable areas of different fading from when they were removed. All coats are in usable condition, but may need some small repairs.
Features:
- M65 Field Coat – The M65 Field Coat was designed as an update to the M1951 Field Jacket and featured many updates and design changes. The coats offer better warmth and water resistance than the prior issued coats and were more practical in the field. There is a zippered hide away hood in the collar, which was disliked by officers and senior NCOs at first due to its less military like appearance then previous coats. Sleeve cuffs were updated to have hook and loop adjustments and fold away extensions for extra protection. The front was zip up with a button snap storm flap and some additional hook and loop adjustments. On the front are four pouch style pockets with button snap flaps. The coats are compatible with quilted liners that button into the inside and stay secure. The buttons along the collar allow the user to attach an additional hood, a feature typically only found on issued coats and not aftermarket examples. The coats would originally be made in Olive Green and with the adoption of the Woodland Camo in 1981 updated to that color pattern. They would also be made in the 3 Color Desert Pattern for a short time while the pattern was prevalent. The last batch of coats would be made for a few years in the ACU pattern, but with the cold weather clothing system updated around that time they would cease issue. Material used for the outer of the coat was a 50/50 NYCO Twill, with the liner being 100% Cotton.
- Woodland Camo Pattern – Created and issued from 1981 onwards. Based on the ERDL camo patterns used throughout the Vietnam War and afterwards, specifically the 2nd pattern ERDL, RDF ERDL. The biggest change over earlier ERDL patterns was the enlargement of the patterns and shapes found in ERDL. The colors were also the same with light green, dark green and brown being used. Black would be used in twig shapes across the base colors. Woodland Camo is commonly referred to just as BDU or M81. M81 is an unofficial name for Woodland Camo that comes from its adoption date, 1981. It was used across the US Military till individual service branches replaced it with modern camo patterns.

What an outstanding value! I bought one of these as a work/chore coat right before the worst of the Midwest winters landed. I attached an extra liner that I already had laying around and this coat has become my go-to for any cold weather outdoor activity. Warm, roomy, and the woodland camo hides soils and stains really well, although truthfully it arrived in such good condition (as always from Venture) that I’m still just a little shy about dirtying it up too much. If your size is available, pull that trigger!

Awesome jacket!! I’m 6’0, 200lbs and the large regular fit perfect. I ordered the jacket used and it is in great condition inside and out!! Came with a US Navy patch and Commander epaulets on the shoulders, which I removed and there is no fading where the patches were. Grab this jacket while it’s in stock!!
