Description
These Propper uniforms are approved for wear within the US Army.
The Propper IHWCU (Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform) Boonie hat is a lighter-weight, more breathable alternative to the standard issue boonie hat and is made to block sunlight and keep your head cool on hot days. Ventilation holes on the nylon/cotton ripstop crown keep the boonie hat breathable while the adjustable chin cord allows for custom fit and wearing around the neck when you want to take it off. The hot weather uniform is a huge upgrade from the standard issue uniforms. The change to a lighter weight material does lend these to fade quicker then standard 50/50 NYCO.
Brim is 2 1/4″ wide.
Features:
- Mesh Vent Holes – There are mesh vent holes to help with air flow and drainage of water.
- Hat Drawstring – This hat has an adjustable drawstring that can be secured under the wearers chin to prevent movement from the hat and to keep the hat from being blown off by the wind.
- IHWCU – Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform. This is the US Army update to the current uniform for wear in warmer and hot weather environments. The system incorporates lighter weight fabrics and updated uniform styles to keep Soldiers cooler in the heat.
- Scorpion Camouflage, OCP – When Multicam was adopted as the replacement for UCP during deployment operations it was also considered for Army wide adoption for uniforms and gear. Licensing fees for the Multicam pattern were deemed to high and the US Army took to the predecessor, Scorpion OCP. Scorpion OCP had been developed alongside Multicam and shares most of the same design. Side by side Multicam and Scorpion look much the same, with differences being subtle. The base color of Scorpion is green, compared to brown in Multicam and the shading of all colors was changed slightly. Scorpion also has no vertical elements in the camo. Scorpion is currently referred to as OCP, or Operational Camouflage Pattern and is used for US Army Uniforms and most Army gear.
