Description

This is a Multicam uniform patrol cap from Propper. The cap has a wide brim that is easy to mold and the hat has a small pocket in the inside. No idea what you were ever supposed to put in that pocket. Maps? gum to keep you awake while on watch? There is a loop field on the back for attaching name tape patches.

Features:

  • 50% Cotton – This made from 50% cotton.
  • 50% Nylon – This if made from 50% nylon.
  • Ripstop Material – Ripstop is a method in which the material is woven in away to make it resistant to tearing and ripping.
  • Multicam – Originally design in the early 2000’s as a competitor to UCP, Multicam was passed over after the selection of UCP. Even with UCP being adopted the camo would still see widespread use by special operations forces across the US Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. As UCP was found to not be suitable and replacements were searched for Multicam was selected as the interim camo for use by deploying US Army Soldiers. The camo would not be issued in full scale within the US Military. With its selection for use in Afghanistan it was known as OEF Pattern. Garrison uniforms in Multicam were never made, with all Multicam uniforms issued in the US Army being fire resistant. Multicam was replaced by OCP, when it became the standard camo pattern for the US Army in 2015. Due to the similarity of Multicam and OCP the gear and equipment in those patterns, not uniforms, are commonly intermixed until widespread issue of OCP was completed.

  • Propper – Manufactured by Propper. Propper is the largest contract holder for clothing and boots for the United States Marine Corps. They previously made some of the woodland and desert BDU uniforms for the US Military. While they don’t manufacture the current US Army Uniform, they do manufacture aftermarket equivalents that are acceptable for duty use. They have a long history of quality military products.
