This is a Desert MARPAT Combat jacket made specifically for use by the United States Marine Corps. It is a midweight water and wind resistant jacket tailored for wear while wearing body armor. The collar and parts of the sleeves feature grid fleece insulation, while the torso area of the jacket lacks insulation. To prevent overheating, there are moisture-wicking panels on the inside the pockets, meaning you can unzip the pockets for ventilation. There are pockets on each side of the waist, and one on the chest that allow for ventilation. There is an additional zippered pocket on one shoulder, but this does not contribute to ventilation. The shoulders and lower half of the back are a heavier duty waterproof material, while the rest of the jacket is made of stretchy water resistant material with the elbows reinforced for durability as well. The coyote sections along the inside of the arms allow for better ventilation and help prevent overheating, and are 4- way stretch to facilitate movement. Inside the collar is a neck gaiter to keep your neck and face warm during inclement weather without interfering with a helmet. This can easily be stowed when not in use. The cuffs are hook and loop, allowing you to tighten them down or loosen them up as needed. Cuffs occasionally vary, with some being an earlier version that is non adjustable and includes a thumbhole for wear.
This jacket is truly designed with kit use in mind, and offers a lot of versatility to keep you warm when static while allowing you to dump heat when moving and wearing kit, with special considerations to allow for optimal movement and articulation. Overall, this is a fantastic jacket for cold and slightly wet weather, especially when wearing kit.
**Due to the different materials used across the coat there is some variation in the shade of camo pattern! The thicker waterproof panels are darker while the breathable water resistant sections are lighter in color.

Bought a small used and I’ve got two comments:
1: I wear an extra small for normal surplus clothing like blouses and combat shirts and this fits quite well.
2: I do not think that Venture knows what used means, because this jacket was like new. I could find no signs of use at all, so I greatly appreciate that.
Overall, fantastic jacket that keeps you warm and decently dry, I highly recommend.

Had my worries on this one, I usually buy new if possible. Shouldn’t have, this one is a nice enough one to consider it unused. I’ve not seen any stains or discoloration anywhere yet, but may at some point. The only giveaway was it’s somewhat homey smell, but that was eliminated in it’s initial wash, with a healthy dose of baking soda in the tub. Kinda pricey, but I wanted one, and I’m not sorry that I bought it. Thanks Venture Surplus for the accurate description, excellent condition, and quick shipping.

Super nice jacket, like new condition. Fast shipping, great seller.
Fit wise, I am 5’10” 160lbs with wide shoulders and long arms.
It fits great in the body and comes down slightly below my hips.
Unfortunately the arms are super short, when I raise my arms the cuffs are 3-4″ above my wrists.
If I went to a large it would be super baggy.. if you have long arms I would avoid this jacket, as nice as it is….
