Description
This is an older model HGU-56/P Rotary Wing Helmet. The HGU-56/P RWH was the standard issue helmet for US Army helicopter pilots and crew. Introduced in 1995 the HGU-56/P (Head Gear Unit 56 Personal) was designed to replace the older SPH-4B helmets and give pilots/ crews more capabilities for more modern missions. These Gentex manufactured helmets give pilots/ crews ballistic, ear and eye protection as well as communication capabilities all in one unit. The HGU-56/P features 2 drop down visors (clear and smoke), boom mic with hook up, in helmet ear cups, is pre-drilled for 4 hole ANVIS pattern NVG mounts, foam padding and has a boom mic map light. These HGU-56/P’s are earlier models without the mandible face mask attachment points that current issue HGU-56/P’s have.
