Description
These are USAF 22nd Air Refueling Wing patches. These patches are worn by members of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing which is currently stations at McConnell AFB in Kansas. The 22nd ARW traces its origins to 1940 as the 22nd Bombardment Group. The 22nd Bombardment Group was converted to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing in 1982. The 22nd was the first USAF unit to operate the then new KC-10A, 135A and 135E aircraft. The 22nd ARW is still active today and has participated in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf War, Serbia and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Patches measure out at 3 x 2.75 inches and are hook backed for easy attachment to an airman’s uniform.
