Description

This is a L4 Windshirt from Patagonia that is a part of the PCU system. The jacket is wind resistant and lightly water resistant, and works great as an outer layer on chilly days. The collar is slightly stiffened, and the sleeve cuffs are elastic for easy fit and protection. At the bottom is an adjustable string shock cord, so that you can easily close up the end of the jacket to keep more wind out. Just inside the jacket is a small pocket that doubles as a stuff sack for the jacket for super easy carry and storage. Overall, this is a pretty simple windshirt, but it’s extremely nice for wear over your uniform or thermal layers, is super lightweight and thin and it is a great addition to any cold weather packing list or layering system.

This is overall in an athletic cut, if you’re on the larger end of your normal size, you may want to size up!

Features:

Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.
Collapsible – Can be folded, compressed or stuff into a smaller size for easier packing or storage.
Zip Up Shirt – This shirt is a zip up, which means that the front is closed with a zipper.
SOF-PCU – Part of the 7 levels of the Protective Combat Uniform used by Special Operations Forces across the US Military. Levels are similar to the standard ECWCS system. Some levels are broken down into multiple parts, such as lvl 1A & 1B. Overall the system is a more specialized cold and wet weather clothing system that more closely follows current civilian market options that are tailored towards tactical use.
Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
Elastic Wrist Cuffs – Cuffs around wrists are elastic for fit and to prevent debris from entering clothing
