Description
This is a Tan USGI Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops, PASGT Helmet, that was used by the United States and various militaries. This helmet and the vest of the same name would see extensive use from the 1980s all the way to the later years of the War on Terror. Although largely phased out much earlier in the late 2000’s, reserve units and some naval units continued use for much longer. While modern helmets have pad systems on the inside, the PASGT helmet uses a system of nylon webbing, sometimes wrapped in leather, to stay on the users head, in addition to the chinstrap. Because PASGT helmets aren’t drilled for a typical one or three hole mount, night vision is usually attached with a ratchet mount or similar system. Overall, this is a good option for a retro helmet with a ton of cool history. New and Used Helmets include Helmet Band and Chin Strap.
***Although these helmets were originally rated to NIJ Level IIIA, they are quite old and are mostly no longer offer the same protection due to heat, sun, and water exposure, age, and other factors. These should not be expected to perform as ballistic helmets and are for novelty and display purposes ONLY***
