Description
This is a M65 style Field Coat from Propper. The coat closely matches the classic USGI M65 Coat. The coat includes the classic button in liner and has a DWR, Durable Water Resistant, coating giving it light water and wind resistance. The coat has a stow away hood in the collar, 4 button snap pockets and a storm flap covering the zipper. The cuffs are adjustable with a hook and loop tap and the waist can be adjusted for best fit too. Overall this is a close match to the issued M65 and is great for all day wear when the weather starts to cool. The original olive drab M-65 is becoming more rare and more expensive so a quality reproduction is an excellent alternative.
Features:
- Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
- Removable Cold Weather Liner – Has a cold weather liner that is removable. These liners ARE NOT the same as the M65 Field Jacket Liner and are specific to the clothing.
- M65 Field Coat – The M65 Field Coat was designed as an update to the M1951 Field Jacket and featured many updates and design changes. The coats offer better warmth and water resistance than the prior issued coats and were more practical in the field. There is a zippered hide away hood in the collar, which was disliked by officers and senior NCOs at first due to its less military like appearance then previous coats. Sleeve cuffs were updated to have hook and loop adjustments and fold away extensions for extra protection. The front was zip up with a button snap storm flap and some additional hook and loop adjustments. On the front are four pouch style pockets with button snap flaps. The coats are compatible with quilted liners that button into the inside and stay secure. The buttons along the collar allow the user to attach an additional hood, a feature typically only found on issued coats and not aftermarket examples. The coats would originally be made in Olive Green and with the adoption of the Woodland Camo in 1981 updated to that color pattern. They would also be made in the 3 Color Desert Pattern for a short time while the pattern was prevalent. The last batch of coats would be made for a few years in the ACU pattern, but with the cold weather clothing system updated around that time they would cease issue. Material used for the outer of the coat was a 50/50 NYCO Twill, with the liner being 100% Cotton.
- Stow Away Hood – There is a stow away hood in the jackets collar for inclement weather.
- Front Pocket – This item has front pocket(s).
- Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.
