Description
These are lightweight, BDU- like jackets from the Swiss military. They are made of the very popular TAZ 83 “Alpenflage” pattern and were issued from 1957 to 1993, being replaced by the TAZ 90 pattern. In typical Swiss fashion, these jackets are extremely sturdy and well engineered. The button snaps are very positive for all the pockets and the stitching is top notch. There is some variation in color between jackets which is shown below in pictures. Buttons, snaps and zippers may also vary in color but the quality and design is the same across the board. On the chest are two good sized button snap pockets and there is a small pocket on the left sleeve as well. The jacket has points for pairing with Swiss gear such as a small backpack and belt, which are not included. Sleeve cuffs are zippered, allowing them to be easily opened to cool down when hot. Overall these are great jackets for camping, or general wear around town with the unique and colorful pattern.
