Description
These are 12th Infantry Regiment Unit Crests. These crests are authorized for wear on a Soldier’s dress uniform indicating their affiliation with that unit. The 12th Infantry Regiment was activated in 1861 and is still active to this day. The 12th Infantry Regiment was constituted into the regular army on May 3rd 1861, less than a month after the beginning of the American Civil War. The 12th would also go on to serve in the Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, Philippine-American War, WWII, Vietnam War, Iraq War and the war in Afghanistan. The 12th Infantry Regiment is currently garrisoned at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
