Description
These are 66th Armor Regiment Unit Crest Pins. These unit crest pins are authorized for wear on a Soldier’s dress uniform indicating their affiliation with that unit. The 66th Armor Regiment traces its linage to the 301st Tank Battalion which was formed in 1918 after the First World War. After Several reorganizations/redesignations during the interwar period the regiment was redesignated to the 66th Armor Regiment in July of 1940. During the 66ths time in service the unit has participated in WWII, Korea, Operation Desert Storm and the Iraq War. Currently 2 battalions of the 66th are active: 1-66 AR (Attached to 3rd BCT, 4ID at Fort Carson) and 3-66 AR (Attached to 1st BCT, 1ID at Fort Riley).
