USGI First Strike Ration MRE Case

This a case of 9 First Strike meals used in the US Army. The First Strike ration was created to replace an individual Soldiers need to carry three standard MRE’s, one days worth of food, and combine it into one ration pack. The replacement of the standard MRE was for operations such as invasions during which space to carry equipment is limited, hence the reduced space and weight of the First Strike compared to an MRE. Each ration contains one days worth of food split between main meals, snacks and drink mixes. The rations also have a 50% reduced weight compared to three standard MREs. Each ration contains on average 2,900 calories. First Strike rations replace the users need to field strip MREs down to conserve weight and space while still fulfilling needed food amounts. They also are generally just better overall.
