Please note these tops are only the outer layer and will not provide any chemical/biological resistance without the correct matching protective base layer.

These are US Army Uniform Integrated Protection Ensemble L2 Tops (UIPE). For years the standard in chemical and biological resistant clothing has been the Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology (JSLIST) used across the US Military. Over the last decade or so the USSOCOM and the US Military at large has been attempting to replace the JSLIST with a lighter and easier to use chemical suit. The JSLIST is notorious for being heavy, hot and hard to wear with a soldier’s supporting equipment. The UIPE addresses this by being a 4-component system that is worn in place of a soldiers uniform and JSLIST outer suit which in turn reduces the thermal burden while still maintaining a broad chemical and biological resistance. The UIPE Tops feature an extremely lightweight and breathable 50/50 NYCO material construction, shoulder pockets with loop field/IR tabs, name/service and rank slots as well as hook & loop adjustable cuffs. These tops would be worn over the base layer chemical resistant suit. These pants are extremely lightweight and made to be easily disposable. As a result they are not ripstop and are fairly thin, leading these to be less resistant to wear and tear.
