For clarification – I ordered the “pre-owned” surplus M5 RAS. The rails that arrived are definitely used, but are mostly just a bit dirty – there’s not a whole lot of wear on them; the wear areas are mainly the areas where the rails contacted the delta ring/barrel nut and the handguard cap, and thus are mostly not even visible when the RAS is installed. These seem to run the range age-wise – the pictures show the later model with the U-shaped spring tab, but the one I received has the early flat spring tab (and the allen key clamp screw). None of that really matters from a functional standpoint; they work perfectly. If you’re looking to do an M16A4 clone build, or just want a great set of drop-in rails for your 20″ barrel rifle, these are what you want!
