Description
This is a FREE IWOL jacket that is used in the US Army. The fire resistant jacket is lined with a thin fleece and has elastic sleeve cuffs. There are hook and loop fields on the shoulders for ID patches and pen pockets on the lower portion of the sleeves. There are chest, waist and shoulder pockets all with zipper closures. The military FREE system is the Flame Resistant Environmental Ensemble that is typically used by aircrew and vehicle crewman.
Material: 69% Nomex Meta-Aramid, 29% Nylon, 2% Spandex
Features:
- Flame Resistant – Will not catch fire when exposed to flames. It will burn but it will not drip or catch fire.
- Exterior Hook and Loop Fields – There is hook and loop on the outside of the pouch for attaching ID and other patches.
- Front Pocket – This item has front pocket(s).
- Elastic Wrist Cuffs – Cuffs around wrists are elastic for fit and to prevent debris from entering clothing
- Zip Up Shirt – This shirt is a zip up, which means that the front is closed with a zipper.
- Fleece Lining – Garment is lined in fleece for insulation.
- FREE Clothing System – The Fire Resistant Environmental Ensemble. FREE is a system of fire resistant clothing and accessories for wear by combat vehicle crewman and aircrew members that generally follows the format of ECWCS as far as layering goes. All layers are fire resistant and focused towards the needs of the Soldiers wearing them. Generally FREE Clothing is a upgraded version of the standard issue equivalent, along with being fire resistant.
- IWOL Clothing – Intermediate Weather Outer Layer, a component of the FREE system. LWOL clothing consists of fire resistant top and bottom layers that are very wind and water resistant to wind and water proof. Clothing is typically 4 Way Stretch and fleece lined.
- Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.
- Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
