Description

These are Prototype/Pre-Production USMC 3 Season Sleeping Bags. These bags were designed/trialed by the Marine Corps prior to the adoption of the current 3 Season Sleeping Bag. Most bags feature a handwritten tag at the bags foot indicating its pre-production status. Please note these will have some minor variation from final production bags such as color, zipper location or bivy attachment points. In some case the bags have light staining from use/ testing.

The 3 Season Sleeping Bag is the Marines equivalent to the US Army’s Patrol Sleeping Bag. On its own the USMC 3 Season is rated down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit but when combined with the matching bivy sack, a sleeping pad and proper clothing this rating changes to 5 degrees Fahrenheit. The 3 Season Sleeping Bag features an anti-microbial lining, baffle tubing to trap body heat and a zippered closure. In addition to this the sleeping bags are also wind and water resistant. Overall, these are a great lightweight sleeping bag option for those spring or fall adventures.
Sizing Notes:
Regular: fits individuals up to 5’ 11”
Long: fits individuals 6’ and over

Features:

  • Ripstop Material – Ripstop is a method in which the material is woven in away to make it resistant to tearing and ripping.
  • Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
  • Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.
  • Compressible – Compressible into a smaller overall size for easy transport and storage.
  • Mummy Style Sleeping Bag – Sleeping bag fits snug to the user when inside, the small hood opening helps keep more warmth in as well.
  • Center Zipper Sleeping Bag – Sleeping bag zipper in located in the center (top) of the bag.
  • Lightweight Construction – Built with lightweight materials for extended use.
